Workload and data review
Identify application roles, file shares, current capacity, growth and concurrent usage.
ITZ / IT SOLUTIONS / UAE
Choose storage and compute around the workload, not just the capacity.
Assessment and implementation for business servers, shared storage and NAS systems, including workload requirements, permissions, protection dependencies and documented administration.
THE SERVICE, EXPLAINED
Server and NAS planning starts with what the business needs to run and share. A server may host applications or infrastructure roles; a NAS provides network-accessible storage with capabilities that vary by platform. Capacity, concurrent usage, permissions, application support and recovery requirements should be considered together before selecting equipment.
Review files, teams, permissions and the capacity your work requires.

Discuss this requirement ↗WHAT WE DO
A file-sharing requirement and a database workload should not be treated as interchangeable. ITZ reviews applications, users, data volume, access patterns and supportability before proposing retained equipment, new hardware or another suitable platform.
This is an implementation and storage-design service. Backup & Recovery defines protected copies and restore planning; ongoing Server & Network Maintenance is a separate support requirement. Redundant drives, snapshots and a storage appliance do not remove the need to evaluate a recovery strategy.
Identify application roles, file shares, current capacity, growth and concurrent usage.
Compare appropriate equipment and supported configurations against the approved requirements.
Configure agreed services, storage and access controls with documented ownership.
Test the selected business tasks and identify backup, recovery and ongoing support requirements.
MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE
| Your situation | A suitable approach | What we confirm first |
|---|---|---|
| The main need is shared files | Assess NAS or another supported collaboration platform | Access patterns, permissions and remote-use requirements |
| A business application needs local compute | Review its supported server requirements | Vendor specification, licences and maintenance ownership |
| Storage is available but recovery is uncertain | Review backup and restoration separately | Protected copies, credentials and application dependencies |
DETAILS THAT MATTER
Drive redundancy can improve tolerance of certain hardware failures, depending on the configuration. It does not by itself protect against every deletion, ransomware incident, administrative mistake or loss of the entire appliance. Backup design should consider copies and access boundaries separately, with recovery testing appropriate to the business requirement.
Consider a team migrating shared folders to a NAS. Successful file copying does not confirm that permissions, file paths and business applications will behave as intended. Agree representative users and tasks, check access boundaries and identify any migration exceptions. Hardware sizing should allow for the expected workload and support lifecycle; raw disk capacity alone is not a performance or recovery commitment.
Equipment is selected against application and access requirements.
Share and administrative permissions have clear owners.
Backup requirements are considered separately from drive redundancy.

COSTS & DELIVERABLES
Availability, access, third-party dependencies and the agreed service hours are confirmed before work begins. No response time or outcome is implied by submitting an enquiry.
The proposal defines the deliverables and acceptance checks included in your engagement.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
No. Redundancy can address particular drive failures but does not cover every cause of data loss. Separate backup and restore requirements need their own assessment.
Migration is included only where scoped. Data size, file permissions, application support, licences and the acceptable change window determine the approach.
No. A supported cloud or collaboration service may fit some requirements better. The recommendation should follow the workload, data, access and operational needs.
